Why the World Doesn’t Need Another Blog
By Janice Darmody
July 4, 2026
For years, I’ve shared pieces of my life on social media. Some posts were about helping families navigate the home-buying process. Others were about leadership, grief, books I was reading, technology, entrepreneurship, or simply a life lesson that made me stop and think and over time, I realized something. Not every thought belongs in a Facebook post.
Some ideas deserve more than a few hundred words before they disappear into an endless social media feed but I didn’t want to create another blog. I decided to create an independent publication where I explore ideas that matter to me from housing and the economy to leadership, entrepreneurship, technology, financial literacy, creativity, community, and the everyday experiences that shape how we live and lead.
Some articles will examine real estate trends and explain what’s happening in the housing market in plain language. Others may explore the impact of artificial intelligence, review a book that challenged my thinking, share lessons from leadership, or reflect on moments in life that changed my perspective. There won’t be a publishing formula because curiosity doesn’t follow one. If a topic is worth understanding, discussing, or questioning, you’ll probably find it here.
I don’t expect everyone to agree with me and that’s not the point. Healthy debate, respectful disagreement, and thoughtful conversation are how we grow. My hope is that every article encourages readers to think more critically, ask better questions, and leave with a broader perspective than when they arrived.
As someone who has worked in healthcare, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, and now real estate, I’ve learned that every industry has one thing in common: the quality of our decisions often determines the quality of our outcomes. That belief shapes everything you’ll read here. Whether I’m writing about a Federal Reserve announcement, a leadership lesson, a local community initiative, or a piece of resin art I created over the weekend, my goal is always the same to provide context, encourage critical thinking, and offer practical insights that people can apply to their own lives.
The world has plenty of hot takes. I’m more interested in thoughtful ones.
So welcome to The JD Review.
Thank you for spending a few minutes with me. I hope you’ll come back often, challenge my ideas when you disagree, share your own perspectives, and join me in building a publication where curiosity matters more than outrage and thoughtful conversation matters more than viral headlines. Because the best ideas don’t simply tell us what to think. They teach us how to think.
